Splitting PDFs the right way
Splitting a PDF is the answer any time you only need a slice of a much larger document. A 200-page annual report usually only needs the executive summary and the financial tables — split those pages out and email a 4-page file instead. The same goes for sharing a single chapter of a textbook, the signature page of a contract, or the data sheet from a multi-section proposal.
When you're splitting, plan the page range before you upload. Jumping back and forth wastes a request each time. If you need many non-contiguous pages (say, pages 2, 8, and 15), run the 'every page' option and pick the files you want from the resulting ZIP. That's usually faster than three separate range splits.
One thing splitting cannot do is extract content into editable formats. If you need the text out, run the result through PDF to Text afterwards. And if you want to reorder pages, split first, then merge in the new order with Merge PDF.
